Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences has published the questions for Yearly Competition 2014. Scientists around the globe are called to prepare original studies on one of the question and submit their work before deadline to participate in the competition. The major purpose of the competition is to stimulate high-quality scientific research regarding problems inherent to overseas regions.
The winners of the competition are awarded a prize of EUR 2,500.
Questions for 2014 Competition –
- A study on the origins and specificity of the language policy in South Africa, with special emphasis on the applicability of official language legislation.
- A study on the application of GIS for the conservation of nature in a tropical area.
- A study on the development of transport corridors in tropical regions.
Eligibility Criteria –
- All scientists worldwide without any age restriction are eligible.
- Academy members are not eligible to take part in the competition.
- The work must be an original and recent (max. three years old) scientific manuscript: a PhD thesis or a work of at least the same level.
- The work may not have been published before the announcement of the question.
- Works written in English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish are only accepted for the competition.
