The National Council for Science and Technology (CONACyT) in Mexico in collaboration with The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) invites postdoctoral scientists from developing countries (except Mexico) planning to pursue postdoctoral research in natural sciences to apply for the TWAS-CONACYT Postdoctoral Fellowship program.

- Structural, Cell and Molecular Biology
- Biological Systems and Organisms
- Medical and Health Sciences incl. Neurosciences
- Chemical Sciences
- Engineering Sciences
- Astronomy, Space and Earth Sciences
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physics
The fellowship is provided for 6 to 12 months period. Fellows receive a standard monthly allowance to cover living costs (food and accommodation) and health insurance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant must be the national of a developing country (other than Mexico).
- Applicants must hold a PhD in the field of natural sciences. Application must be made within five years of obtaining a PhD.
- Applicant must be regularly employed in a developing country (other than Mexico) and hold a research assignment there.
- Applicant must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in Mexico or any developed country.
- An applicant can submit only one fellowship application per year.
- An official Acceptance Letter from the Mexican institution recognized by CONACYT must be attached with the application. Note: Students must send Request for Acceptance to the chosen host institution.
- Must be proficient in English or Spanish language – certificate required.
Note: All major public and private institutions of higher education and research centers in Mexico are recognized by CONACYT. The application and reference letter must be submitted to TWAS.
