University of Aberdeen is accepting research projects on ‘Conflict, Transition and Peace’ from postgraduate researchers from around the world under postgraduate funding opportunity. The fund aims to offer individuals perform research in areas including conflict studies, peace studies, post-conflict peace building, reconciliation and transitional justice within the Social Sciences, Law, Education and Divinity and Religious Studies at the University of Aberdeen.
The fund program supports the students for three years offering them an opportunity to work at Institute for Conflict, Transition, and Peace Research (ICTPR). The areas of research may be (but not limited to) – violently divided societies; ethno-nationalism and conflict; Radicalization and de-radicalization; The politics of peace processes; The role of education in societal healing; Equality of opportunity and post-conflict justice; gender and peace building; Transitional justice mechanisms; Independence movements; non-violent political action; civil society and peace building; Refugees and displaced peoples; and Religion and peace building; victims and perpetrators.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Any individual pursuing research postgraduate from anywhere in the world and from any subject is eligible to apply for the research award scheme.
- Applicants must have completed master’s level studies and must be able to submit transcripts and degree certificates before beginning the course.
- International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency certificates.
- Application must be accompanied by a research proposal on the topic the applicant aims to conduct research.
Complete application includes – a completed Postgraduate application form; academic transcripts and degree certificates to date (if available); proof of proficiency in English; academic references; two confidential references; and research proposal.
