United States Agency International Development (USAID) is accepting proposals from U.S. or non-U.S. Private Voluntary or non-governmental Organizations for Challenge TB grant project 2014. Main aim of the grant project is to support countries with high burdens of TB, MDR-TB, and TB/HIV achieve their national strategic plan goals, thus contributing to the achievement of the 2015 Millennium Development Goal (MDG) objectives and strive towards the post-2015 global goals.
The proposed project designed to provide global leadership and field implementation of the project must meet three objectives – expanded access to prevention services (infection control, active case finding and latent TB infection (LTBI) strategies); improved patient-centered quality care systems for TB, MDR-TB and TB/HIV (universal access to appropriate treatment, laboratory network strengthening, comprehensive care services and engaging all care providers); and sustained and enhanced systems (political commitment and leadership; comprehensive partnerships; demand driven TB services; drug policy and management; data quality, TB surveillance, and Monitoring and Evaluation; and human resources developement ).
Two applications – technical and financial must be submitted through online method or hard copy sent to grants.gov before deadline.
Eligibility Criteria –
- U.S. or non-U.S. Private Voluntary Organization (PVO) or a U.S. or Non-U.S. Non-Governmental Organization is eligible to apply for the grant program.
- Applying organization must have experience and capacity in performance improvement, policy dialogue, implementation of TB prevention and care activities, and other related technical and managerial areas to achieve the results.
- Applying organization must agree to and have the capacity to work with and hire individuals who have demonstrated experience and technical expertise to plan and implement the Stop TB Strategy throughout the world.
- Applying organization must have the experience and capacity to collaborate with other organizations/groups in undertaking TB prevention and care programming.
