United States Agency for International Development (USAID), , is seeking concept papers first and then full applications from prospective local partners to implement activities that advance the role of civil society and communities in influencing regional development decisions that have significant social and environmental impacts in the Lower Mekong Subreigon.
Eligible Countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, or Cambodia
Program Objectives
- Increased capacity of civil society to influence development decisions that have significant anticipated social and environmental impacts
- Strengthened regional platforms for multi-stakeholder participation in development decision-making
- Increased public access to quality, timely information on environmental and social costs and benefits of regional development projects.
Award and other Information
- The grant available for this programme is $1 million.
- Number of grants available is 10.
- The duration of the proposed activity is up to 2.5 years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant should be local civil society organizations, including non-governmental organizations, universities, networks, task forces, assemblies, consortia, media and freelance journalists, and community-based organizations.
- Applicants must be registered in Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, or Cambodia. Applicants registered in China but working on issues related to investments in the LMS may also apply.
How to Apply
The application process is in two steps:
- Applicants are required to first submit a concise concept paper using the annexed concept paper template. Concept papers must address the issues discussed in this solicitation document.
- Applicants submitting concept papers that align with MPE’s objectives and the APS program description will be requested in writing by Pact to submit a full application using the annexed templates. Applicants should not submit a full application unless explicitly requested by Pact.
