The Development Marketplace (DM) is a competitive World Bank program implemented in Cameroon by the World Bank Country Office and Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
This competition attracts innovative or original ideas submitted by associations, NGOs and Common Initiative Groups operating within the Cameroonian national territory.
The objective of the competition is to offer an opportunity for innovative ideas on strengthening community participation for better local governance of Education, Health or Forest Resources.
The Cameroon Development Marketplace program has singled out three sectors from which projects can be developed to improve governance in Cameroon within the context of decentralization. These sectors are: Education, Health and Forest Resources.
Eligibility
Three types of organizations can apply for the development marketplace funding:
- Associations governed by the Law of 19 December 1990;
- National NGOs governed by the Law of 22 December 1999;
- Common Initiative Groups (CIG) governed by the Law of 14 August 1992.
- Not more than one application file will be accepted from each organization.
- Each organization must have its legal registration document from the competent administrative authority.
- All applicant organizations must have experience in project management.
Grant amount for each selected project?
All projects selected at the end of the marketplace event will benefit from a total grant of between 7 000 000 and 12 000 000. This grant will enable the implementation of the selected project over a period of 12 months maximum.
