Europeaid is accepting proposals for Country-Based Support Scheme Programme for Egypt. The major purpose of this programme is to strengthen the role of civil society in promoting human rights and democratic reforms in Egypt.
Objectives:
- Promote and protect the rights of vulnerable/marginalized groups
- Strengthen civil society organisations’ role and capacities as human rights advocates
- Support adoption, implementation and follow-up of international human rights conventions
- Strengthen the media’s role in promoting a culture of democracy and human rights
- Combat torture and other forms of ill-treatment
For this programme grants requested minimum of up to EUR 100,000 and maximum of up to EUR 300,000 for the planned duration of an action may not be lower than 12 months nor exceed 36 months.
Eligibility criteria:
- Be a legal person
- Be non-profit-making
- Be a civil society organization, including non-governmental organizations and independent political foundations, community based organizations, and networks thereof at local, national, regional and international level
- Be established in Egypt or a Member State of the European Union or an accession or official candidate country as recognized by the European Union, or in a Member State of the European Economic Area.
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
