The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs has initiated a MENA Scholarship Program (MSP) and is accepting applications from professionals in governmental, non-governmental and private organizations and institutions for short term courses in Netherlands. Professionals from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Syria and Tunisia are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. Half of the scholarship is reserved for female applicants.
The applicant needs to submit the application form in the Netherlands Embassy in their respective home country. Documents required to be submitted are – evidence of proficiency in speaking and writing the language of instruction; an employer’s statement; a complete copy of your passport or other official identity document; certified copies of educational records in English or French (notary certified translations should be provided in case they are not in English or French); a detailed curriculum vitae in English; one current photo; a copy of birth certificate (if requested by the Embassy). The MENA scholarship covers subsistence allowance, tuition fees, visa costs, international travel costs, medical insurance and allowance for study materials.
Eligibility Criteria –
- The applicant must have applied for a course on the MSP course list February 2014 meeting all the requirements and should not have received MSP scholarship in three years prior to the proposed course starts.
- The applicant should be a government/non-government/private organization or institution professional with at least three years of work experience and not more than 45 years of age, from one of the ten selected countries – Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Syria and Tunisia.
- The complete application form with all the required documents should be submitted within deadline at The Netherlands Embassy of the applicant’s home country.
- The applicant must be nominated by her/his organization and must demonstrate the need for training in the context of the organization in the application. Also, the employer must send a supporting letter mentioning why the individual is nominated and how she/he will benefit the organization if offered the training.
- The applicant must commit to be available (physically and mentally) during the entire course and commit to return to the home country after full completion of the course.
