Proposals are accepted for thematic programme “Non-State Actors and Local Authorities” (NSA-LA) under Europe Aid. The purpose of this program is to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations and local authorities as a pre-condition for a more equitable, open and democratic society through support to their “own initiatives”.
Objectives-
- Promotion of the principles of inclusivity and independence in partner countries so as to facilitate non-state actor and local authority participation in poverty reduction and sustainable development strategies
- Raising public awareness of development issues and promoting education for development in the EU and acceding countries, anchoring development policy in European societies, and mobilizing greater public support for action against poverty and fairer relations between developed and developing countries
- Support for activities to strengthen coordination and communication activities of NSA and local authority networks in the EU and acceding countries.
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 1,000,000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making and be nationals of Egypt, or a Member State of the European Union, in an accession or official candidate country as recognised by the European Union or in a Member State of the European Economic Area be Non-State Actors (NSA) constituted in accordance with the legislation in force in the country concerned
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
