Applications are invited for Journalism Fellowship Programme offered by Thomson Reuters Foundation. For this fellowship priority will be given to areas of focus of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. For this program applicants must have a minimum of five years experience in any branch of journalism and demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English to be able to participate fully in the life of the Programme and write a research paper in English of publishable quality. The goal of this fellowship is to provide exposer to eligible journalist.
Fellowship offers-
- Awards may include travel expenses (including air travel economy class) and a modest living allowance. This arrangement is subject to variation.
- Spouses and partners (including with dependents) are welcome but under no circumstances will the Thomson Reuters Foundation Fellowship Programme pay the travel or living costs of visiting spouses or dependents.
Documents required-
- Completed application form
- A full curriculum vitae
- A personal statement outlining i) Applicants journalistic values ii) the major trends in the media landscape in which applicants work, and iii) a summary of what they think they would contribute to the Fellowship programme (no more than 500 words).
- A statement of up to 1,000 words explaining applicants proposed research project
- A reference from their employer, supporting their application and granting leave of absence
- A second professional reference (e.g. former employer).
Eligibility & Criteria-
- This is a unique opportunity for journalists from Lebanon, Palestine and Syria to benefit from a Journalism Fellowship at the Reuters Institute, University of Oxford.
- Candidates should ideally be based in the Levant region or Egypt and intend to work there upon the completion of the Fellowship.
