The European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) is seeking proposals for Country-Based Support Scheme for Georgia to contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law and respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms, within the framework of the European Union’s policy on development cooperation, and economic, financial and technical cooperation with third countries, and consistent with the European Union’s foreign policy as a whole.
The EIDHR is global in scope. It operates at national, regional and international level and supports actions carried out in third countries throughout the world, and also in Member States if relevant to needs in third countries.
The objective of this Call for Proposals is to strengthen the role played by civil society in Georgia in promoting human rights and democratic reform, in supporting the peaceful conciliation of group interests and in consolidating political participation and representation.
Grants provided-
Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts-
- minimum amount: EUR 50,000
- maximum amount: EUR 100,000
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non profit making
- be specific types of organisations such as: non – governmental organisations , international (intergovernmental) organisations as defined by Article 43 of the Implementing rules to the EC Financial Regulation
- be established in Georgia or a Member State of the European Union, or of an accession or official candidate country as recognised by the EU , or a Member State of the European Economic Area
- have been registered for at least two years at the time of the submission of an application
- for non-Georgian NSOs, have at least three years of experience of working in Georgia at the time of the submission of an application
- not be a branch office of an CSO established in an EU Member State or Georgia
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with their partners, not acting as an intermediary
