People in Need offers Small Grants for Capacity Building of local NGOs in regions of Imereti, Guria and Samegrelo located in Georgia.
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech organization that provides relief aid and development assistance, while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. In 2011, PIN is one of the largest NGOs in the new EU member states working in relief and development. People in Need has been operating permanent mission in Georgia since 2005.
Projects focus in three main directions-
- Civil society development (support to youth initiatives and small NGOs, good governance)
- Education through documentary films (production of educational toolkits for schools)
- Support of socially vulnerable youth
People in Need (PIN) invites proposals for a grant competition in support of grassroots NGOs in West Georgia. The grant competition is designed to strengthen organizational capacity of newly-established NGOs and to increase their effective and sustained engagement in decision-making processes at a local level to address the problems of their constituencies.
Competition objectives-
- Support activities directed at the capacity building of newly established regional NGOs in terms of organizational development, project management, public relations and cooperation with different stakeholders at the local level.
- Support along with organizational development the activities focused on problem solving with active involvement of local community (project target group and final beneficiaries) and cooperation with other local stakeholders (other NGOs, LAs etc.)
- Projects can be focused on the following activities: Advocacy, promotion and raise awareness on local problems like: human rights violation (rights of vulnerable group), environment protection etc.
Grants amount-
PIN will allocate 10 small grants for maximum amount of 5000.00 GEL. Grants will be provided in two installments. Selection will be made by independent experts committee based on the PIN methodology.
Eligibility-
Only NGOs operating and legally registered in Imereti, Guria and Samegrelo are eligible to apply. Civil servants, members of the current parliament and members of political parties cannot participate in a grant project as a director or any grant remunerated participant.
Applicants must submit the following documentation-
- One original and two (2) copies (including electronic version of CD)of the proposal in Georgian or English.
- Copy of the registration form of the organization
- Reference letter from other NGOs or local stakeholders
