United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking Concept Papers for funding to support-
- support and increase participation of people with disabilities (PWDs) in USAID activities and
- strengthen the capacity of disabled people’s organizations (DPOs).
The awards made as a result of the applications received in response to the concept papers and full application process are to support projects and programs that will increase the participation of people with disabilities within the programs and strategies of USAID/Georgia. Program areas include, but are not limited to, agriculture and food security, democracy, human rights and governance, economic growth and trade, environment and global climate change, gender equality, women’s empowerment and science, technology and innovation, inclusive education, policy and governance issues, civil society building, health care, and employment opportunities. Capacity building programs for DPOs may include organizational capacity, advocacy efforts, cross-disability coalition building and coordination, and leadership and training.
Eligibility & Criteria
- Be organized under Georgian laws
- Have its principal place of business in Georgia
- Be majority owned by individuals who are Georgian citizens or lawful permanent residents of Georgia or be managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are Georgian citizens or lawful permanent residents of Georgia and
- Not be controlled by a foreign entity or by an individual or individuals who are not citizens or permanent residents of Georgia
