Call for Applications are invited for internships in Ghana on the subject “Securing the Future of Children and Youth”. This program is being hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University in partnership with two universities including Ghana and University of Cape Coast and Ashesi University.
- Deliver human rights and global studies courses jointly to Laurier and Ashesi University students via video conferencing with the goal of assisting Ashesi in developing its own human rights program
- Send Canadian students to work as interns on projects related to children’s rights, youth justice and education and to work with Ghanaian teachers and Ngo’s to advance human rights practices
- Assist University of Cape Coast graduate students from the Institute of Development Studies in spending a term studying at Laurier
- Require interns to share their experiences with the aim of improving understanding of human rights, gender equality, and good governance in Ghana and Canada.
The selection process and decisions will be made in April 2012.
