This is the call for proposals from the European Commission to provide grant support to projects aimed at promoting an inclusive and empowered society in Ghana.
The specific objective of this Call for Proposals is to “contribute to an increased performance of non-state actors and their networks in ensuring a more effective, committed and nationwide engagement of communities in local planning and decision making processes as well as to support the development of a more comprehensive and harmonised approach for social accountability in Ghana .”
Considering that there is a clear need to strengthen the capacity of Non State actors (particularly of grass-root organisations in Ghana) to inform citizens and communities about their rights, and to help them understand government policies and their implications on poverty and inequality, as well as the local and national context in which decisions affecting their life are being taken, all actions to be supported under this programme must be done in collaboration with District and Community Based Organisations (CBO’s).
The deadline to submit proposals is 30 November 2010. For more information, visit this link.
