The Climate Technology Initiative Private Financing Advisory Network (CTI-PFAN) invites proposals from entrepreneurs from West Africa Region to participate in the West Africa Forum for Clean Energy Financing -2 (WAFCEF-2) Business Plan Competition. The purpose of the Forum is to identify and nurture entrepreneurs with promising clean energy projects by linking them with investors and financiers.
At the West Africa Forum for Clean Energy Financing (WAFCEF)-2, eight to ten (8-10) qualified projects will have the opportunity to present their Business Plans to invited investors and make a pitch for financing. Top three (3) projects will be selected and presented the West African Clean Energy Financing Awards. Following to the Business Plan Competition Awards, all Investment Forum participants will be invited to attend a one-day Dialogue on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. This is an opportunity for dialogue with policymakers on policies, regulations and laws and investment in clean energy in West Africa.
Grant applications can be made in between US$1 million to US$50 million.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be any entrepreneur actively operating and/or registered in ECOWAS countries of West Africa including: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.
- Foreign persons with projects in such countries are also eligible.

- Applications can be submitted in English or French language.
