The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is inviting applications from Ghanaian organizations to implement the Accountable Democratic Institutions and Systems Strengthening Project 2014. The major purpose of the grant program is to strengthen Government of Ghana institutions and civil society organizations.
The Project activities include Strengthening Systems of Public Accountability and Transparency, advocacy by civil society for legislative change related to accountability, increased documentation and exposure of corruption through civil society reporting mechanisms, and U.S. Government Coordination. The total budget of the grant program is approximately $2,200,000 in total to be allocated for the four year period.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Only local Ghanaian organizations (organized under the laws of Ghana with its principal place of business in Ghana which is not less than 51 percent legally and beneficially owned by one or more resident citizens of Ghana or be managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Ghana and is not controlled by a foreign entity or by one or more individuals who are not resident citizens of Ghana) are eligible to apply.
- Applicant organizations must have a politically neutral humanitarian mandate, a commitment to non-discrimination with respect to beneficiaries and adherence to equal opportunity employment practices.
