Eligible applicants are invited for Award for Investigative Journalism 2013 supported by Transparency International (TI) and the Institute for Press and Society (IPYS) and Open Society. The mission of this program is to encourage greater transparency in government, business and media, as well as social spending oversight. The award is open to all thematic research on matters of public interest.
The prize will award US$30,000 to the highest quality journalism published in print, radio, TV or online outlets in 2012 (US$15,000 for first place, US$10,000 second place and US$5,000 for third).
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Journalists can apply personally or as a research team, with one or more papers published in some media in Latin America and the Caribbean, whether in Spanish, Portuguese or English. Research teams designate a representative to enroll.
- IPYS and Transparency International can nominate works directly with the Jury, seeking that the author or authors of the register will research and Award nomination.
