United States Agency for International Development in Haiti (USAID/Haiti) is inviting Concept Notes from for-profit and not-for-profit organizations to implement activities to support the Haitian Local Partners and U.S. PVOs Program.
Program Areas –
- Early Grade Reading Strengthening – To support local Haitian organizations and U.S. PVOs which can design, develop and execute creative, innovative activities that support improved early grade reading instruction in Haiti‘s primary grades and access to education, including accelerated learning programs.
- Workforce Development and Job Creation – To support Haitian and U.S. PVOs organizations that can design, develop and execute innovative activities that support business development services, work force development and job creation.
- Support to Agribusiness and Producer Organization – To increase farmers‘ income in the development corridors.
- Reinforcing Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment – To support local Haitian organizations who can design, develop, and execute innovative activities that support gender equality and women‘s empowerment.
- Creative Innovative Activities for a Behavior change and Communication program to raise Awareness on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) (Health) – To support local Haitian organizations who can design, develop and execute creative, innovative activities for a behavior change and communication program to raise awareness among the population and change their views and approach toward GBV.
- Reinforcing Local Haitian Organizations that Can Develop and Implement Activities that Support the Reintegration and Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons in Haiti – To support local Haitian organizations and U.S. PVOs, which can design, develop and execute creative, innovative activities that support the reintegration and rehabilitation of disabled persons in Haiti.
- Screening and Treating Cervical Cancer for Women in Low-Setting and Hard-to-Reach Areas – To support local Haitian organizations who can develop, design and execute creative, innovative activities aiming at screen and treat cervical cancer for women in low-resource settings and hard-to-reach areas.
- Advancement of Civil Society in its Role to Promote Democratic Governance, Oversight of National and Local Governments – To make significant strides in the advancement of civil society in its role to promote democratic governance and oversight of national and local government.
- Water Sanitation and Hygiene in Selected Areas – To achieve sustainable improvement in water supply, sanitation access and key hygiene behaviors.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Local Haitian Organization must –
- Be organized under the laws of Haiti.
- Have its principal place of business in Haiti.
- Be majority owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Haiti or be managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Haiti.
- Not be controlled by a foreign entity or by an individual or individuals who are not citizens or permanent residents of Haiti.
- US PVO must –
- Be registered with USAID.
- Have received $5 million or less in the aggregate from USAID during the past five-year period.
- Cost sharing of 25% is encouraged for US PVOs but not a requirement in case of local organizations.
