The Aga Khan Foundation is currently accepting applications from students around different countries for its 2015-2016 International Scholarship Programme. Application forms can be obtained from the Aga Khan Foundation or Aga Khan Education Service/Board office in the applicant’s country of current residence. The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
- The Foundation accepts applications from nationals of the above mentioned countries only. However applicants from France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada, are also eligible to apply if they are originally from one of the above developing countries and are interested in development-related studies and who have no other means of financing their education.
- Students under 30 years of age will be preferred.
- Applicants must be residing in one of the countries where there are local Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), or Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) offices.
- Applications for short-term courses and students, who have already started their course of study, will not be considered.
- Applicants are expected to have some years of work experience in their field of interest.
Selection/Evaluation Criteria
The main criteria for selecting award winners are:
- Consistently excellent academic records
- genuine financial need
- admission to a highly reputable university or programme of study
- relevance of the field of study to AKDN’s focus areas
- coherent educational and career plans, their extra-curricular interests and achievements.
Application Procedure
- Applicants are required to obtain application forms from AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services / Boards in their countries of current residence. Completed applications should be returned to the agency from which the form was obtained.
- Short listed applicants will be interviewed by local Scholarship Committees.
- The annual Scholarship Selection Meeting takes place in late June or early July and the short listed applicants will be notified.
