Australia-India Council now seeking applications for fellowship to promote long-term contact and cooperation between Australia and India.
In addition, for the information of our Education sector, the AIC in partnership with Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations is looking for an Australian Fellow to undertake a fellowship in India to enhance the understanding of strategic issues important to India and Australia bilaterally, regionally as well globally.
Eligibility–
- The fellowships can only be granted to Australian citizens with a PhD or equivalent expertise in the field. Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong research and writing background and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Applicants will need to address one of the following fields of research:
- Bilateral Relationship
- New areas of cooperation between India and Australia
- science and technology, natural resources management, etc
- Regional Cooperation
- Strategic cooperation between the Bay of Bengal community of countries : India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and extending up to Indo-Pacific region (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Singapore and Australia)
- Maritime Security and Piracy
- Patrolling and cooperation against piracy, trade routes, oil exploration etc.
- Naval Cooperation
- Strategic military partnerships, including exercise, technology exchange and peacekeeping
- Global Developments
- Disputes over maritime borders, Investments in Exclusive Economic Zones etc
