The IKP Grand Challenges Explorations (IKP-GCE) organized in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation seeks to identify, nurture and empower revolutionary ideas that address global health challenges.
The initiative is searching for life-changing ideas from talented and motivated professionals; ideas that will improve the quality of life of people in the developing world.
IKP-GCE is an opportunity to put yourself on the same platform as Grand Challenges Explorations (GCE) grantees from all over the world, while also leveraging the mentorship, resources and network that IKP offers. If selected you will be recognized as a GCE Phase I grantee, and will be eligible for a Phase I funding of USD 100,000 for a period of 18 months to two years. Successful projects will have the opportunity to apply for a follow-on grant of up to USD 1 Million from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
It is seeking ideas to create drugs, vaccines, diagnostics, devices and delivery systems that will address the health issues as delineated by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, such as malaria, pneumonia, enteric and diarrheal diseases, maternal, neonatal and child health, neglected and other infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, polio, tuberculosis, family planning and nutrition.
This Call for Proposals is open to anyone from any discipline in India – from students, researchers and faculty in colleges/ universities/government laboratories/ institutions to startups and SMEs as well as non-profit organizations.
