Landesa Rural Development Institute (LRDI) is inviting applications for six weeks long Women’s Land Rights Visiting Professionals program being conducted in Seattle, USA. The program aims to boost visiting professionals’ capacity to effectively strengthen women’s land rights, foster motivation and ability to actively participate in this network, and reinforce the commitment to working on women’s land rights.
Each visiting professional will be offered the knowledge transfer and mentor engagement on a project for up to one year after they return to their home countries.
The program covers travel expenses including cost of obtaining a US visa, roundtrip flights, and airport transfers; along with lodging, public transportation and a stipend for food and living expenses.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Practitioners, policy advocates, community organizers, educators, and other professionals who are strongly committed to strengthening women’s land rights are eligible.
- Mid-level development professionals with at least five years’ development experience, two of which are focused on issues related to land tenure or women’s rights are eligible.
- Applicants must be professionals who are currently working in-country for an organization (NGO, educational institution, government agency, etc.) located in India, China, or East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda).
- Applicants must be professionals with advanced English proficiency skills.

Applicants must commit to spend six weeks in Seattle during parts of September and
October.
Application must be accompanied with cover letter, complete application form, curriculum vitae, one writing sample, and two references.
