Central Institute of Classical Tamil invites application for Doctoral fellowships for Indian Students in the field of Literature, Linguistics, or allied disciplines such as Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Archaeology, Epigraphy, Musicology, Performing Arts, Folklore, Philosophy, etc.
The Doctoral Fellowship includes Rs. 12,000/- per month for 2 years with a contingency grant of Rs.12,000/- per annum. The candidate should not have exceeded 30 years of age as on 16 th August 2012. Age relaxation will be allowed for OBC candidates (3 years) and SC/ST candidates (5 years).
Eligibility–
- The candidate should have registered for Ph.D. in any recognized University or Institute.
- The evidence of Ph.D. registration should be enclosed.
- Postgraduate Degree holders with not less than 55 marks in Literature, Linguistics, or allied disciplines such as Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Archaeology, Epigraphy, Musicology, Performing Arts, Folklore, Philosophy, etc. are eligible to apply. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be given relaxation of 5 marks.
- Subject chosen for Ph.D. thesis should pertain to any area of scholarship relating to the period prior to 6 th A.D. Preference will be given to Ph.D. registrants who are working on topics related to Interdisciplinary Subjects, Comparative Dravidian, Language Typology and Translation with special emphasis to the classical period.
