The Jubilant Bhartia Foundation and Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship are inviting nominations for Social Entrepreneur of the Year (SEOY) Award for 2013 for India. The goal of this award is to address challenges in numerous areas including health, education, environment, job creation and access to technology. Whether they are set up as for-profit entities, hybrid social ventures or not-for-profit organizations, their primary focus is transformational social change. Social entrepreneurs develop a revenue stream through the sale of products, services, fees or develop key partnerships to achieve sustainability.
Benefits-
- All finalists will be invited to a high level Award Celebration in November, and possibly an associated World Economic Forum event in India at around the same time. This is a unique opportunity to connect with business executives, key government leaders, civil society members and media representatives of the region. The flight, lodging, and registration fees for all finalists will be covered.
- The winner(s) will be included in the Schwab Foundation network. Benefits include access to a peer community of social entrepreneurs, services such as pro-bono consulting and legal advice, as well as scholarships to executive education courses at world-class institutions, such as INSEAD and Harvard Business School. In addition, network social entrepreneurs are eligible to participate in World Economic Forum meetings.
- Excellent finalists/winners under 40 years of age will also be nominated to the Young Global Leaders (YGL) network of the World Economic Forum.
- The Jubilant Bhartia Foundation will help finalists and winners to connect with government and business leaders in India.
Documents Required-
- An updated copy of the applicant’s CV or resume
- Financial statements (income statements and balance sheets) for the last 3 years
- A copy of the most recent annual report
- Any available 3rd party evaluation of eligible organization
- An organization chart or staffing chart with reporting lines
- Links to videos of recent public talks they have given, or current articles or blogs they may have written
- E-mail addresses of two references
