Times of India Group in partnership with J.P. Morgan have announced the Social Impact Awards and invites applications and nominations for these awards. The awards are being organized by Bennett Coleman & Company Limited (BCCL). These awards aim at honoring and popularizing the activities of thousands of people who are not satisfied with sitting back and watching, who have taken the plunge and worked for delivering such essential needs to our compatriots as education, healthcare and decent livelihoods. These Awards will also recognize work towards saving the environment and empowerment of people.
If you are part of an organization that has been striving to bring succor and justice to the underprivileged in India, then you can select your niche and apply for the Award. You can vote for those you know and think that they deserve to be rewarded.
ELIGIBILITY
Three types of nominations/applications are acceptable:
– Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs): Trusts or societies registered under the relevant act in India and currently functioning in India. NGOs set up and primarily funded by corporate bodies are not covered in this category.
– Corporate Bodies: Any corporate body or an entity set up by it as a society/trust, currently functioning in India.
– Government Departments: Any state or district level unit of a state or central government department/ministry, through its head or through a person in a responsible position.
Categories
Social Impact Awards will be awarded in the following five categories:
HEALTH; EDUCATION; LIVELIHOODS; ENVIRONMENT; and ADVOCACY & EMPOWERMENT
Selection process
There will be a 3-stage selection process consisting of:
1. Initial Application: in a prescribed format; open to all through online submissions
2. Short listing by Experts: Designated experts in each of the 5 categories will short list potential winners in the framework of the parameters given below. For objective assessment, Jury will receive a Report based on field visit to each of the short listed persons’ work area.
3. Jury Award: A 5-6 member jury will finalise the 18 awards (3 in each of the 5 categories).
