The Embassy of Finland is pleased to invite proposals for Local Cooperation Fund (LCF) which aims to fund about 30,000€ – 40,000€/ year. The goal of this fund is to complement other Finnish development efforts in the fields of poverty reduction and environmentally, economically and socially sustainable development, human rights, democracy and good governance and to strengthen the civil society. In addition, the fund provides support for small-scale cultural and social development activities.
Thematic areas-
- Women, Peace and Security (especially in Aceh)
- Sustainable forestry and rural development
- Climate change, energy efficiency and renewable energy
The Embassy will assess the incoming application based on:
- 3Cs (Capacity, Credibility, Communication). At an early stage, the Embassy will check whether the organization has capacity to carry out the proposed project (past experiences of projects with similar focus will be taken into account)
- Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound (SMART) objectives
- Clarity on who the main beneficiaries are
- Effective and efficient use of the funds – the organization needs to demonstrate in the proposed budget that the funds will be used efficiently and effectively to reach the specified objectives
- Whether there are other committed stakeholders who will be involved in the project by contributing their funds (eg. government, other donors, etc.)
- Unique and innovative approaches to solve problems in the community
- Sustainability of the results – the organization needs to show how the impact of the project will be sustainable after the funding from the Embassy of Finland has finished
Eligibility & Criteria-
- The organisation must-
- be a local non-governmental organisation (NGO)or
- a community-based organisation (CBO) or
- other Institution in Indonesia (institution of science and technology, independent media, public organisation – museum, library, theatre, special interest group, foundation or religious organisation)
- be a registered entity in Indonesia (notary registration) and recognised by a government body
- have capability/skills/knowledge and solid organisational structure to support proposed project/activities
- have relevant experience and satisfactory track record and demonstrate community support
- be able to show past year’s annual accounts and financial statement which is audited by a public accountant (external auditor) or by the organisation (internal auditor)
- have willingness and capacity to open a separate bank account for handling project funds
- have willingness to practise open communication with the Embassy of Finland through phone, fax and email
- have a genuine and credible domestic basis
- Activities proposed should reach a large audience and have potential for a broad impact and replicability.
- Activities strengthening Indonesian – Finnish cooperation are encouraged.
- Organisations networking, cooperating and coordinating with each other will be highly appreciated.
- The proposed programme should not be launched or fully financed by the donor.
