Under the European Commission’s Aid to Uprooted people programme, the projects aim to support sustainable solutions in selected priority areas where uprooted people have not yet reached the recovery phase and constitute the most vulnerable group in economic and socio-political terms. The aim is integrating their needs into mainstream development responses.
The global objective of this call for proposals is to support sustainable resettlements and livelihoods for those ex-IDPs ‘left behind’ in the recovery process in three key post-conflict provinces of Maluku, West Timor and Central Sulawesi. The specific objective is to strengthen conflict early warning and early response networks in the target areas in monitoring and optimizing the interaction between the people and other factors of social cohesion/disintegration.
The expected result of the programme: Conflict-early warming and early response mechanisms in the three target provinces are strengthened; unforeseen negative effects of the project are identified and mitigated; positive changes in gender inequities and environment degradation are monitored and enhanced; the environment of the project is more conducive as perceptions and stereotypes evolve positively; external sources of tensions are identified and monitored; structural causes of local incidents are integrated in higher level fora.
The deadline to submit proposals is 10 August 2010. For more information, visit this link.
