The Said Foundation invites applications for scholarships for masters’ degrees at universities around the UK. Full or partial scholarships will be granted to students, keeping in view their financial requirements and other grants available to them. The Foundation will be providing complete funding and even matching funds. Scholarships can also be provided for distance learning courses and short postgraduate courses at accredited UK academic institutions.
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- The applicant should possess a good first degree.
- He/she should have ample proof of his/her proficiency in English
- His/her age should not exceed 40 years.
- He/she should be Jordanian, Lebanese, Syrian or Palestinian, including Palestinians inside Israel, and be resident in the Middle East.
- The applicant should be able to clearly show how his/her chosen course of study will be useful to his/her home country or the Middle East region.
- He/she should have at least two years’ work experience.
- If the proposed course is available at the Foundation’s partner universities, he/she should apply there.
- He/she will have to sign a binding agreement to utilize the skills and knowledge gained through the course, in one of the Foundation’s target countries.
Disabled people can also apply for the scholarships.
The last date to submit the application forms is 31 January, 2012.
There is a different application procedure for Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Application forms for scholarships for these universities are available at their respective websites.
