The Media Council of Kenya is inviting applicants from Kenya for Annual Journalists Excellence Awards (AJEA). The purpose of offering this award is encourage development journalism in Kenya in respect to Vision 2030. There will be no entry fee for this award.

Eligibility & Criteria-
- There is no entry fee.
- An applicant must be a Kenyan Journalist (definition of journalist will be as per the Media Act 2007).
- Entries must have been published/broadcast within the past calendar year. This being from March 2012 to 15th March, 2013.
- Age limit: Only applicable to the Young Journalist of the Year Award. Must be 25 years as of March 2013.
- Entrants must attach a one page professional, academic background and biography to their entries.
- Print entries: Stories submitted MUST be original copies of the stories (in PDF or on CD).
- Photographs: Entries MUST be cuttings of the original.
- Cartoon: Entries MUST be cuttings of the original.
- All print entries must include date of publication.
