EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is the world’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. The unique award makes a difference through the way it encourages entrepreneurial activity among those with potential, and recognises the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.

Eligibility Criteria
- For consideration as one of our category Entrepreneur Of The Year entrants, you must currently be, and have been for at least three years, the lead/senior executive director of a business (not a subsidiary or division) and therefore are primarily respinsible for the success of your business or enterprise. You will also need to have an equity shareholding in the business.
- Master Entrepreneur category: A nominee must be a founder/owner (or joint founder/owner), primarily responsible for the recent performance of a company that is at least five years old. Founders of listed companies are eligible, provided the founder is still active in senior management. The nominee must own some equity to be eligible. (Min. 35m USD)
- Emerging Entrepreneur category: A nominee must be a founder/owner (or joint founder/owner) primarily responsible for the recent performance of a company that is at least 2-3 years old and the nominee must own some equity to be eligible. (Min. 5m USD)
- In addition for both categories:
- Your business must employ a minimum of 10 employees.
- You may enter individually or as a management team of up to three persons
- Your business must be based, or have its chief operations, in one of the Eastern Africa countries.
- The minimum turnover Your business must employ a minimum of 10 employees.
