Karim Rida Said Foundation is pleased to offer 2013 Scholarships for full or partial scholarships for masters’ degrees at universities around the UK depending on the level of financial need or whether other grants are available to applicants.
The Said Foundation is a charity based in the UK. One of foundations aims is to promote education and development in the Middle East. the Foundation offers a number of scholarships annually to enable graduates to pursue postgraduate courses and other training in subjects to be considered on their merits at partner universities in the United Kingdom. Scholarships are tenable for up to one year.
The Foundation can also consider distance learning courses and shorter postgraduate courses at accredited UK academic institutions.
Eligibility & Criteria–
- Applications are restricted to candidates who are Syrian, Lebanese, Jordanian or Palestinian (including Palestinians inside Israel)
- Applications for study at universities outside the United Kingdom cannot be considered
- Scholarships are offered only for postgraduate courses or training of up to one year’s duration. Applications from PhD candidates can only be considered for Oxford and Cambridge universities
- Applications from candidates who will be forty years old or more at the beginning of the 2013/14 academic year cannot be considered
- Evidence of proficiency in English is required by the Foundation
- Applicants must hold a first degree of a high enough standard to indicate that they are likely to complete their proposed course of study in the UK successfully
- Applicants cannot be considered if details have not been provided of the courses for which they have applied in the UK
- Candidates must be in genuine need of partial or full funding
- Successful applicants are required to sign a binding undertaking to apply the skills and knowledge they have gained in one of the Foundation’s target countries (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine)
- Priority will be given to applicants with work experience whose studies will benefit their field of work. Candidates must have at least two years work experience gained after they completed their undergraduate degree. We cannot normally consider experience gained whilst studying or during university holidays
- Applications from candidates whose siblings or spouses are currently being supported by the Foundation cannot be considered.
