European Commission has issued a call for proposals from the organizations aimed at promoting a more equitable and participatory society in Liberia besides addressing the synergies between the CSO and the Liberian General Audit Commission (GAC) so as to ensure public awareness on the role and mandate of the GAC
In Liberia the crucial role of civil society organizations (CSO) is also highlighted on the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) document where strengthening citizenship participation in governance is considered as a top priority and a vital element to put into effect an active civil society enhanced by a solid ownership framework.
Objectives:
The global objective of this Call for Proposals is to support actions aimed at promoting an inclusive and empowered society in Liberia.
The specific objectives of this Call for Proposals are:
-Strengthening Liberian CSOs;
-Enhancing synergies between the General Auditing Commission and CSOs.
FINANCIAL ALLOCATION
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 1,999,000 divided into two Lots:
LOT 1: EUR 1,700,000 for actions submitted under specific objective 1 (Strengthening Liberian CSO)
LOT 2: EUR 299,000 for actions submitted under specific objective 2 (Enhancing synergies between the General Auditing Commission and CSOs)
Size of grants
Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
LOT 1 – Strengthening Liberian CSO
· minimum amount: EUR 100,000
· maximum amount: EUR 500,000
LOT 2 – Enhancing synergies between the General Auditing Commission and CSO
· minimum amount: EUR 100,000
· maximum amount: EUR 300,000
