Training program is being organized in Iceland from 38 July 2013 for which the title is “Europe-it is You”. The purpose of this program is to explore the concepts of European citizenship as value based citizenship and will link it with youth work on the topic of Europe.
Objectives-
- critically explore the meaning relevance and implications European citizenship in youth work in all its dimensions
- promote and facilitate the active use of programmes and structures in support of youth work on European Citizenship, including the «Youth in Action» and the new programme for Youth
- experiment and explore the potential of European Citizenship for active democratic change in society
- associate the participants with the current discourse on European Citizenship (its concepts, formal meanings and expressions)
- exemplify the connection between European Citizenship, Human Rights, Democracy and Intercultural Learning and the underlying values
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Youth leaders active within the organizations
- Be motivated to develop their competences about European citizenship
- Be committed to attend for the full duration of the course
- Be aged between 18 and 35
- Able to work in English language
