Countries/Region- Malawi
UNCDF and SIDA invites EOI for Moblie money for the poor program which was developed on the premise that the rapid spread of mobile telecommunications and electronic banking provides a tremendous opportunity to promote financial inclusion on a grand scale. The mission of MM4P is to increase the financial security and build the financial resilience of low income and rural households in the least developed countries (LDCs) by providing them access to branchless or mobile financial services.
MM4P is seeking to provide funding for pilots and early efforts in Malawi that have the potential to help mobile financial services rapidly scale, both in terms of general adoption and usage levels, and with a focus on activities that reach beyond urban centres.
