The Scottish Government International Development Team is pleased to announce funding opportunity for 2013 Malawi Development Programme.
The Malawi Development Programme aims to support projects in line with the priorities of the Government of Malawi and the Millennium Development Goals. Government of Malawi priorities are aligned to the four policy strands of the Scotland-Malawi Co-operation Agreement: Civic Governance and Society, Sustainable Economic Development, Health, and Education.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Presence in Scotland-
- Organizations applying for funding must have a presence in Scotland. Alternatively, applications submitted by a consortium must include a lead organization based within Scotland.
- Applications submitted by a consortium must include a lead organization based within Scotland. There must be a named Project Manager in Scotland who can discuss progress of the project with the Scottish Government, as and when required.
- For the purposes of this fund ‘a presence in Scotland’ means that an organization must either be-
- a charity registered in Scotland (under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005)
- occupy offices or premises in Scotland provided these will be used in connection with the use or administration of funds paid to organisation through this Fund.
- Target Countries-
- The support provided by Scotland is also expected to reflect the development priorities identified by the developing country and/or state and to complement the work of the UK Government and other international development programmes.
- Applicant should refer to the call for funding and reference the National development priorities set by the Government of Malawi and try to ensure that their project is addressing one or more of these priorities.
