University of Adelaide seeking applications for Sarawak Alumni Scholarship for a student who is enrolled in an undergraduate program.
The Adelaide Sarawak Alumni Scholarship was established in July 2001, as a result of a donation of $100,000 made by the Chief Minister of Sarawak YAB Pehin Sri Dr Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud AO via the University of Adelaide Alumni Association to the University of Adelaide.
The successful applicant will display outstanding academic ability as well as having a demonstrated commitment to community service. Academic merit will be assessed based on applicant’s cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) for the preceding year. Applicants must provide documentary evidence of their community involvement.
The Scholarship will provide an annual amount of $7,000AUD, payable in two instalments of $3,500AUD direct to the student following confirmation of enrolment at the census dates for a maximum of one year. The funds are to be used to assist the student with tuition and other study expenses, travel or living expenses for one year of the student’s undergraduate program, subject to satisfactory academic progress and the submission of a brief report to the Development and Alumni Office outlining the impact of the scholarship on their studies/university experience.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- To be eligible for consideration an applicant must be a Malaysian citizen who is currently enrolled as a full time undergraduate student in their second or subsequent year of study at the University of Adelaide.
- Applicants must have completed at least one year of study at the University of Adelaide.
