The Star Education Fund seeks applications from deserving young Malaysians for Scholarship Awards 2011 enabling them to pursue full time undergraduate studies at local public universities. The Fund was established by Star Publications (M) Bhd in 1994 with the primary objective of providing educational opportunities to deserving young Malaysians.
Field of Studies
– Undergraduate degree in Mass Communication/ Management/Marketing/Business
– Undergraduate degree in English
– Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design
– Undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance
– Undergraduate degree in Computer Science/ Business Information System/Business Information Technology/Computer Engineering
Eligibility
– Be Malaysian citizens of not more than 25 years of age as at 1st January 2011
– Possess good academic records (STPM or equivalent)
– Possess strong leadership qualities through active participation in extra curricular activities
– Not be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aids from other educational institutions or organizations
– Have gained admission to the local public universities for approved course of study
Scholarship Terms & Conditions
Valued at RM7, 500 per academic year
Tenable for the minimum period required by the recipient to complete the course
Successful candidates may be required to serve Star Publications (M) Bhd upon completion of their studies.
Selection Procedure
The Star Education Fund Committee will conduct interviews and candidates will be selected in open competition on the basis of a combination of factors, which includes academic performance, family background, active involvement in extra-curricular activities and leadership qualities.
