Applications are invited for Mexico Scholarships Program under the framework of the bilateral cooperation programme between Mexico and Jamaica. The program is supported by initiatives of Cooperation offered by Mexico to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the Government of Mexico.
The programme includes a variety of disciplines and sciences, in practically all areas of knowledge, with special emphasis on studies of special importance to the Caribbean region such as Engineering, Health, Biotechnology, Genomics, Mechatronics, Nanotechnology, Environment, Spanish as a second language, Tourism and Natural Disasters.

- For candidates from the ACS and CARICOM region who are not proficient in the Spanish language, the Government of Mexico has included an intensive six months Spanish and Mexican Culture Course.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- All applications must be presented at the Embassy of Mexico in Jamaica, located at the PCJ Building, 36 Trafalgar Road, New Kingston.
- Application duly completed
- Bachelor, master or doctorate degree, according to the selected course. A minimum score of 8.0 in a scale 1 to 10, in the last grade obtained. (For a different grading system the equivalency chart must be presented).
- Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum)
- Copy of birth certificate
- Copy of valid passport
- Medical certificate (not older than 3 months and specifying whether the applicant suffers from infectious diseases )
- Letter explaining the reasons for undertaking studies in Mexico and the way the applicant expects to apply the acquired knowledge upon his/her return in Jamaica.
- Admission letter from the Mexican University or letter from the University stating that the candidate is in the process of obtaining acceptance.
- 8 recent pictures (3cm x 3cm). Digital impressions will not be accepted. One of the pictures should be placed on the application format and the other should be presented with name and nationality on the back.
- All candidates must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jamaica.
- Proof of Spanish proficiency issued by a recognized institution.
