Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) program is seeking applications from eligible candidates working in various government sector organizations in Mongolia to pursue 2 year master degree program at Japanese accepting universities for the academic year 2012-2013.
JDS program is running in Mongolia since 2001. Up to today, total of 192 fellows have been sent to Japan under the program from Mongolia. Language of instruction is English and the number of dispatches is 18 per year.
Fields of sub-program and accepting universities
The JDS program consists of “Sub-Program” and “Component” as the priority field of study, which correspond to and deal with the target priority issues for the social and economic development of Mongolia.
The fellows of the JDS program in Mongolia are selected from the “Target Organizations” whose mission is closely related to the “Sub-Program” and “Component”. This approach gives its most importance on “Selection and Concentration” on the target priority development issues, securing further effectiveness and efficiencies of the program.
The master degree programs for candidates from Mongolia are in the following fields:
- Institutional Development for a Market Economy at Kyushu University(Graduate School of Law), Hitotsubashi University (School of International and Public Policy), International University of Japan (IUJ)(Graduate School of International Management), Osaka University(Graduate School of Human Sciences)
- Environmental Protection offered at University of Tsukuba (Graduate School of Life of Environmental Sciences)
- Development of Infrastructure to Promote Economic Activity (Development Engineering, Information Communication Technology) at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Graduate School of Science and Engineering)
Eligibility
- Citizen of Mongolia
- The age of over 22 under 40 as of April 1st, 2012 (Born on/after April 2nd, 1972 and born on/before April 1st, 1990)
- Required more than two years of work experience as full-time employee in the Target Organizations
- Has bachelor’s degree
- Has a good command of both written and spoken English (TOEFL score of 500 or higher is preferred but not required)
- Has not been obtained Master’s degree under the support of Mongolian or foreign country’s scholarship
- Must not be serving in the military
The application must be submitted to the department of your organization in charge of nomination to JDS program
