Eye to Heart is inviting people to send videos or screenplay addressing one of the five themes for Eye to Heart 2011 Contest. The submitted videos and screenplays will be reviewed by a panel of celebrity judges, and the winner will be awarded with the $2,000 prize. Selected videos will be screened at international festivals and scripts may be made into a film.

Eligibility
Entrants must be 25 years old or younger as of the contest deadline October 15, 2011. Entrants must be of residents or citizens of an Arab League member state, Iran, Afghanistan, or Pakistan. There is no minimum age requirement, and entrants do not need to be students. Videos and screenplays must be in Arabic, Farsi, French, Urdu, or English. You may submit more than one entry – but only one entry per question asked. A team of up to three individuals may submit an entry together.
Length
Videos may range from one to seven minutes in length. Each film entry must be accompanied by a 200-400 word description of the film’s synopsis as well as the director’s rationale for making the film. Screenplays must not exceed 2,000 words in length, and must be accompanied by a brief 200-400 word plan for turning the screenplay into a film should the writer be selected as a prize winner.
Anonymity
If do not want your name made public in the event you are selected as a winner, check the “anonymous” box on the entry form.
Prizes
There is $20,000 in prize money. 5 short film entrants will each receive a $2,000 prize, and 5 screenplay entrants will each receive a $2,000 prize. Winners will be expected to apply their prizes toward advancing their projects: turning screenplays into actual films, promoting their video to international audiences, and/or internships with professional film companies. Any related taxes or customs fees are the sole responsibility of the winner. If a submission involves a team of two or more writers/producers, the award will be divided equally among them.
Entering the Contest
Use the online entry form to enter the contest. Screenplays should be included as part of the entry. Video submissions should be uploaded to an online video-sharing site that offers English subtitling capability (e.g., YouTube, Dailymotion, DotSub, etc.).
Originality
Submissions must be the entrant’s original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. By entering the competition, the entrant agrees that the “From the Eyes to the Heart” Competition and its sponsor the American Islamic Congress will not be held liable for any copyright infringements in any submitted works.
