UN Women is the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, established under a resolution on 2nd July 2010.
UN Women Pakistan is uniquely positioned to support initiatives of the government and non-governmental organizations leading towards a full realization of gender equality and women’s empowerment commitments in line with the national and international gender equality and human rights commitments such as, the Constitution, National Action Plan for Women’s Empowerment, the Beijing Platform for Action, CEDAW, Millennium Declaration, the Millennium Development Goals and others.
UN Women supports the Government of Pakistan in the implementation of CEDAW and other international commitment for WHR and IHL to ensure the needs of women and girls are also properly addressed at all levels; be it development, humanitarian response, relief or early recovery.
The UN Women has issued a request for proposals for funding the Gender Based Violence (GBV) training of stakeholders at the district level.
Activities
This request for proposal will support organizations having master trainers in GBV in emergency situation from UN Women and will conduct at least three trainings in their respective areas. These trainings at district/tehsil level will be organized as per the action plan developed by the participants of TOT trainings in Lahore and Islamabad. These trainings will contribute to building resilient society to the G BV incidents in case of emergencies.

- Registered Non-governmental organizations and community based organizations
- Governments, including National or Local governmental agencies
- Local Associations
- Education and research institutions
- Women’s groups/networks and groups working with boys and men
- Groups/networks that promote men and boys’ engagement in gender equality
Budget
Proposals will be considered for a small grant for a maximum duration of up to 3 Months for conducting GBV trainings in the respective areas.
