10 participants form Philippines are invited for Asian Youth Forum 2013 (AYF 2013) organized by The Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) in cooperation with the Asian Youth Council. The forum will be conducted in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia on May 31 to June 2, 2013. The theme for this forum will be “Youth and Peace: Strengthening the Peace, Stability and Development Through Education”. Main motto of organizing this forum is to foster an integrated approach to peace through education; to create a culture of peace and support within the youth community; emphasize personal responsibility and life skills to be productive and successful; and to initiate a community project through education to achieve the MDG, among others. The Forum will also coincide with the Executive Committee Meeting and general assembly of the Asian Youth Council (AYC).
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Must be a Filipino citizen between 18-35 years of age
- With valid passport ( validity is within six months from date of departure)
- Able to communicate in English
- Must be mentally and physically fit to travel
- Must be able to participate in all activities related to the AYF 2013
- With background as youth leaders from the government or private sectors
- government employees, members of non government organizations and the academe are welcome to participate
- Must be able to prepare a paper on the topic: “The Costs of Peace: Lessons Learned” to be presented during the Forum
- Must be willing to shoulder own round trip airfare from Manila-Phnom Penh-Manila
Forum offers-
- The organizers shall take care of accommodation and meals including local transportation for the duration of the event
- The head of each delegation will be entitled to a single room accommodation while the other participants will have twin sharing accommodation
