The CBMS Network Team in association with the Angelo King Foundation Inc. (AKFI) calls for proposals from local government units in the Philippines, who have completed at least one round of CBMS implementation in their respective areas, for projects that would improve access to basic education.
Proposals should focus on any of the following activities:
•Construction of additional classrooms to existing elementary school
•Renovation of existing elementary school facilities damaged by natural calamities, armed conflict, or normal wear and tear.
•Elementary school building construction with classrooms, public library/reading room, and basic sanitation facilities
Construction of school facilities should at least conform to the minimum standard specification of the Department of Education (DepEd). A total of 3 LGUs will be awarded with a grant not exceeding P 400,000 each.
Eligibility and Requirements:
•Proponent must be a local government unit -Province, Municipality or City in partnership with the Barangay where the school facility will be located;
•Proponent should have completed at least one round of CBMS implementation;
•Proponent must be able to provide empirical evidence of the need, plan of use, and vital contribution of the proposed project using CBMS data and other existing data sources;
•Proposed project or intervention must be congruent with the validated CBMS survey results;
•Proposal must contain a description of concrete steps/activities and timeline for evaluation and monitoring of the outcome of the project;
•The activity must be completed within 12 months from the approval of the project grant;
•Proposal must include a concrete plan of action and timeline for its implementation for the maintenance of the educational facility to be constructed; and
