Foundation for Human Rights is inviting proposals for Human Rights Awareness Programs to address the historical legacy of apartheid, to promote and advance transformation in the country and to build a human rights culture using the Constitution as a tool. This program is supported by Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DoJ&CD). Title of this program is Access to Justice and Promotion of Constitutional Rights (AJPCR), Strengthening Civil Society Programme in pursuance of Government’s objectives to build a vibrant constitutional democracy in which civil society plays an active role. Successful applicants will be awarded a maximum grant of R120, 000.00

- Strengthening democracy through partnerships with civil society
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Be a Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) based in, or working closely with, communities in rural and urban poor areas
- Be registered, or in the process of registering as a Not for Profit Organisation (NPO) that is a community-based organisation (CBO), Section 21 company (Not for Profit Company), or a non-profit trust
- Have a proven track record of implementing education and awareness programmes on constitutional rights;
- Demonstrate that the proposed project will involve active community participation and benefit.
- Only applicants working in Kwazulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Free State and Northern Cape will be funded.
