The Rhodes Trust is pleased to offer scholarship opportunity for all eligible applicants to pursue postgraduate degree at University of Oxford. The goal of this program is to support outstanding all-round students at the University of Oxford, and providing transformative opportunities for exceptional individuals.
A Rhodes Scholarship covers all University and College fees, a personal stipend and one economy class airfare to Oxford at the start of the Scholarship, as well as an economy flight back to the student’s home country at the conclusion of the Scholarship
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Applicants must have a first degree by the time applicants start at Oxford, which means that applicants must be at least in the final year of their first degree when they apply for the Scholarship.
- Generally, applicants from South African universities will have had to do very well in their discipline. Applicants will need to obtain a first class or a very strong upper second class degree.
- Applicants must live permanently in and have resided for at least five years within the period of ten years immediately preceding theirapplication in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia or Swaziland.
- Unless applicants are a medical student or medical doctor, they must be at least 19 years and younger than 25 years on 1 October in the year after selection. This means that 2014 applicants must have been born after 30 September 1989 and on or before 1 October, 1995.
