TEACH South Africa is seeking applications from applicants who have interest in becoming TEACH ambassadors. TEACH South Africa was started by the South African business community to improve the South Africa’s economy. TEACH South Africa recruits individuals from all academic backgrounds and career interests who have what it takes to excel as teachers.
Program Objectives
In the short-term, the objective is to recruit, train and support the most talented recent university graduates to commit to teaching for a minimum of two years in some of South Africa’s most disadvantaged schools.
In the long-term, helping TEACH Ambassadors to form an alumni movement, informed by their experience in the classroom, which will fight for educational equality for learners all over South Africa by using their influence in the sector they decide to work in.
Eligibility Criteria
South African Citizens:
- Applicants must hold a university degree and must have successfully completed a full year or more of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English or Technology during the course of your degree.
- Applicants must have graduated in the last five years or will complete their degree by no later than December this year.
Non – South African citizens:
- Applicants must hold a university degree and must have successfully completed a full year or more of Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Technology during the course of your degree.
- Applicants must have graduated in the last five years or will complete their degree by no later than December this year.
- Applicants must hold a valid South African work permit.
How to Apply
All applicants must complete the online application as no paper-based applications will be accepted. Applicants selected for the interview day must present the following documents:
- A certified copy of transcripts from the university that will award or has awarded the degree.
- A certified copy of legal documentation that proves that applicant is a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of South Africa.
- For South Africans applicants, this is a certified copy of their ID and for non-South Africans applicants, this is a certified copy of their passport.
- Non- South African citizens need to bring a certified copy of a valid work permit.
