The Charles Pick Fellowship is accepting applications from South Asian Writers for the year 2014. The main purpose of the six months fellowship program is to support the new writers who haven’t yet published their work. The support is allocated to complete a major work.
The application form should be accompanied with an original unpublished piece of work not more than 2500 words. The original work can be in any other languages but the accompanying document must be translated in English.
Eligibility Criteria –
- The writer should be from South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Burma/Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), but does not need to be domiciled there.
- Applicants must be writers of fictional or non-fictional prose in English who have not yet published a book based in South Asia.
- Applicant must agree to translate the full work to English if the fellowship is granted.
- Applicant can be of any age.
