The European Commission has issued an open call for proposals for the “European Union Support to Socio-Economic Development in North & East Sri Lanka.”
In line with the European Commission (EC) Country Strategy Paper for Sri Lanka 2007-2013 this Call for Proposals aims at supporting conflict-affected communities by underpinning the sustainability of the return process, thereby fostering the likelihood to preserve long lasting peace and stability.
In order to foster Aid Effectiveness, this action will seek maximum alignment with regional and local development plans in the North and East of Sri Lanka, improve beneficiary ownership as well as promote donor coordination and harmonisation of interventions in a fitting manner.
The global objective of this Call for Proposals is: to contribute to the sustainable rehabilitation and reconstruction of the North and East of Sri Lanka. The specific objective is to address the reintegration needs of communities in the Northern and Eastern Provinces through sustainable rehabilitation and reconstruction assistance and the improvement of public services.
