The European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) is inviting submission for Country based support scheme(CBSS) in Sri Lanka. The mission of this program is to to contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy, the rule of law and respect for all fundamental rights and freedoms in Sri Lanka.
Objectives of this project is to-
- Strengthen the involvement of organized civil society in the shaping and monitoring of local and/or national policies regarding democratization, good governance, respect for fundamental rights and freedom of expression, including the implementation of the National Action Plan for Human Rights (NHRAP) and the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) report.
- to enhance the national and grass roots efforts towards reconciliation, stimulating ethnic relations, and religious tolerance, while also promoting the rights of vulnerable groups.
- Cross-cutting issues such as gender, disability and environment should be mainstreamed in all actions.
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 1,452,000.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be specific types of organisations such as: non-governmental organisations, public sector operators, local authorities, international (inter-governmental) organisations as defined by Article 43 of the Implementing Rules to the EC Financial Regulation3. However, in case of a multi-beneficiary grant, an International Organisation cannot be the applicant
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or Sri Lanka. This obligation does not apply to international organisations
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
